Volunteering

Volunteers play a really important role at Crawley Museum and Ifield Watermill, and there’s lots of different ways to be involved. These include:

  • Stewards: Stewards welcome visitors to the Museum or Watermill and help them with any questions they have about the displays.

  • Collection Assistants: Collection Assistants help with Crawley Museum’s object, image and archive collections. They help by numbering and listing objects, images and archives and by cataloguing items onto our computer system.

  • Education Assistants: Education Assistants help with visits from schools, colleges, adult learners and other groups.

  • Retail Assistants: Retail assistants help in the museum shop. They serve customers and help with the display and maintenance of shop stock.

  • Administration Assistants: Administration assistants help with office based tasks.

  • Restoration Volunteers: Restoration volunteers help with the restoration of Ifield Watermill
