Find out what happens when Jay-Jay is invited to an island where the children have never seen a double-decker bus – and certainly not one full of toys!
Following the publication of the first story book, ‘Jay-Jay the Supersonic Bus‘, children asked if Jay-Jay might have more adventures. The start of the fictional bus story books are based on the real ‘Bewbush Playbus‘, which worked in the town of Crawley, West Sussex.
This story is based on a real bus which visited towns and villages all over Scotland. The bus journey took it to a remote island on the Shetland Isles where it had to travel by ferry. The ferry was small and the bus was much bigger than a car!
“We wish it was still here,” the children always comment.
So even if only in book form, the Bewbush Playbus does indeed still exist!
