Education at Crawley Museum
We are happy to welcome school parties to the new museum. Our education sessions for primary schools are:

Bespoke Sessions
We can also offer bespoke sessions on request. We can also design sessions for secondary schools, colleges, universities and adult learning groups. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
We also offer outreach sessions to schools. Outreach Visits are charged at £45 per session plus travel expenses. Education sessions at the museum are charged at £1.50 per child. To book a session or for more information please contact us

Education at Ifield Watermill
We welcome visits from school groups by arrangement. The visit includes a guided tour of the Watermill. The content of the session can be tailored to fit the needs of the pupils. We offer the following sessions:
- How a Mill Works
- The History of the Mill
- Geography and use of water power
- Natural History
- Rivers and the Water Cycle
- Art
- Mechanics of the Mill
Visits are free, although donations are welcomed. We suggest £1 per child, and can provide an invoice of this for your records. The maximum recommended group size is 40. To book a session or for more information please contact us
Resources
We provide discovery boxes for use in the classroom on the themes ‘Home’, ‘Washday’ and ‘Childhood’. Discovery boxes include a range of objects, centred around their theme, all for handling by children and teachers alike. They also include support material. If you are interested in borrowing a Discovery box please contact us for more details.
